Cameron Allen, Executive Director, Houston ES Teacher

Cameron Allen was born in Casper, Wyoming, and grew up in San Antonio, Texas.  He arrived in Austin in 2002, where he began his formal studies in elementary education at UT.  After student teaching, graduating, and spending some time in Ecuador, he returned to Austin and found work teaching adult English as a Second Language.  Almost immediately, he recognized the untapped power of the space, and has since dedicated his work and study to developing empowering and democratic adult learning spaces.

Lupita Gonzalez, Early Childhood Program Coordinator

Lupita Gonzalez has 5 years experience working in a licensed child care center, working with babies (0-11 months), mobile infants (12-18 months), toddlers (18-24 months), and children 2-3 years old. She obtained her Child Development Associate's from Austin Community College. She worked with 3-4 year olds, creating and implementing lesson plans. Her work provided children with activities at appropriate developmental levels. She attended various trainings as an early childhood education professional.

Tupac Alcauter, Community Outreach Coordinator, VISTA Member

Tupac was born in Morelia, Michoacán, Mexico. He moved to Mexico City to work and go to school. In 2000 he graduated with a B. A. in Sociology from the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana. In 2011, he completed his Master’s degree in Environmental Auditing and Management with a specialization in Waste Treatment and Management from the Universidad de León, Spain.
